For 50+ years Gary served as a full-time and part-time minister of music/worship pastor in local churches, consistently demonstrating a compassionate and pastoral heart to people of all ages. But, in addition to his love for music and church family, since his childhood he has possessed a special affinity and affection for senior adults. (And, as he gratefully avers, “And now I am one.”)
After resigning full-time music ministry in 2003, Gary served as an interim executive director at an independent and assisted living retirement community. This positive experience led him to initiate Gary Freeman Services, singing “Hits of the 1920’s – 1970’s + a Few Other Years” in senior adult venues across the DFW Metroplex. To date Gary has sung over 6000 shows in senior adult communities… Independent Living, Assisted Living, Health & Rehabilitation, Memory Care, church senior adult groups, private parties (birthdays, anniversaries), garden clubs, and more.
